How To Look Good After A Long Haul Flight
By Amelie Giradine, 10 Jun 00:23
A must for everyone who travels far, especially the jet-set.
1. Rinse your mouth and brush your teeth if you can manage.
2. ALWAYS pop in a breath mint. Do this before anything so that the mint takes effect sooner and so that you don’t have to wash your hands to place something in your mouth.
3. Get a mirror and examine yourself: is your hair messy? Is your face oily? And etc.
4. Tackle the obvious things you don’t want people to see: brush your messy hair, use the face paper on your oily face, apply lip balm to cracked lips, and etc.
5. ***If your hair will take too long to fix: either brush to fix it in a ponytail or have the innocently but intently messed up look (think of the high-end models who sport this so well)
6. Eyes tend to have dark circles after an annoying slumber on the plane, or they tend to look hollow as if you (likely) had no sleep, so pop on shades, unless it’s night time—although some people can manage shades for 24 hours, most will simply look blind if the moon is up.
7. Stand up and smoothen out your outfit.
8. If you’ve got heels, put them on, unless you are uneasy, dizzy, have vertigo, or are not level-headed at the moment. Don’t force it.
9. Get your carry-on luggage, if ever.
10. Walk out with a good song in your head: okay pick a good one, this would be the worst time to walk to Happy Birthday, even if it is your birthday. If it’s a song to dance to or if it’s rather upbeat, walk with a defiant bounce in your step unless you prefer to dance-walk or sway your hips with attitude: very, very few can pull this off, the rest look simply annoying and or pretentious. Follow the beat of the song, to visualize pretend that where you’re walking is a runway and you’re the star or at least part of the show that everyone is watching.
Things you might need
Basic grooming essentials, things you might carry around your bag like breath mints and a brush. Probably shades and heels.
