How To Successfully Orate
By Amelie Giradine, 10 Jun 00:54
Transitioning into the literary piece you're reading.
1. Understand the content of the piece.
2. Feel the mood of the piece and let it engulf you.
3. Empathize with the author or character created by him or her. Think: how would they be in their situation given what you are reading?
4. Practice reading out loud. Hear yourself and frankly tell yourself what you may need to change or improve on.
5. The moment of truth, the time to orate: You are not yourself, you are the one who wrote the piece or are the character.
6. Transition your nervous energy into emotion. Let your eyes speak as strongly as your voice. Make eye contact with the audience.
7. Read the piece with fluid motion, be natural.
Things you might need
A literary piece of course, maybe a trust worthy few for criticism before you go on. A quiet secluded area (ideally a room with a door you can lock.)
How-to Extra Advice
Never keep your eyes on the piece for too long. Don't care what others think so long as you know you're not doing anything wrong. Give it your all or you'll severely regret it.
